"Stay of Execution" took place on Friday 23rd February 2007 at the Haydock Catholic Club. It was a night that will surely be remembered in the minds of all the fans for a number of reasons:
1) Brickwall defeated Mark Rage, Matt Jay and Xander Cooper in a battle royal style match :- Brick wall showed he is geeting back onto form with this win over Mark Rage, Matt Jay & NITRO new guy Xander Cooper. Xander showing enough to suggest that he could be one man to watch out for in 2007. Lets hope the rest have sat up and took notice of this bright new star. 2) Adonis defeated Sean Phoenix :- Adonis and Sean Phoenix renewed their rivalry in Haydock. These two have faught each other before and this match did not let anyone of them down. Adonis managed to pic up the victory, but Sean Phoenix looked very impressive. 3) Where the Wild Things Are :- The new NPWA acting Govenor Gary Wild had the new & 4 time NPWA International Champion Paul "flash" Andrews as his guest. The two former Dream Team members and mulitiple time tag champions did as they always do when in the same ring, whatever they wanted. The usual laughter and joking with the fans Wild eventually began chatting Flash's injury problems that the international champion just can't seem to shake off. Unexpectedly Dreads music hit and he come out with Jason Glory to confront Wild and Flash, but with his new found powers of control Gary started a tag match right there! Flash was really not at his best and you could tell he was limping all over the ring, but with the help of Wild the two defeated Glory and the Triple T champion Dread. 4) D-Dogg defeated The Fireball :- The returning D-Dogg along with The Fireball have met each other in the ring before and always beat the snot out of each other, and that they did in the Haydock Catholic Club, Fireball just can't seem to regain his form. 5) F8L Fury defeated Sebb and Matt Slater :- F8L Fury took advantage of the missing member of Ultamate Devistation & co-holder of the NPWA Tag-Team champions Paul Havok. Leaving co-member Sebb to find a last minute stand in, Matt Slater. Slater a NPWA Rookie stood in for Havok and gave a good account of himself and i'm sure Sebb would give him credit for the effort he put in, but F8L Fury picked up the win and this should give them a re-match for the NPWA Tag-Team Championship Belts that they want to add to the collection. 6) NPWA Championship – Loser Leaves the NPWA - Straight Jacket Match Enigma and AC Kage renewed their rivaly for the NPWA Chamionship belt in Haydock with the loser under contract to leave the NPWA. The NPWA Champion Enigma was out to show that his title win was no fluke with a series of high flying moves. What a main event this was both Kage and Enigma pulled out everything they had and then some. This match had everything and will no doubt go down as one of the best NPWA Tilte matches in the history ofthe Championship, with Enigma finally defeating Kage to retain the Championship Kage has now been released from his NPWA contract and was readmitted to the Worsley Menses Mental Institution later in the night. Will Kage ever be seen in a NPWA ring again? there's always the chance of a day release...... |
